About UoA Bee Sanctuary Pollinator pals

The University of Auckland Bee Sanctuary is part of a student run club called the Sustainable Future Collective. They exist to educate, empower and engage the UoA community on all things sustainability. Formed in July of 2018, the sanctuary was created with the intention to provide a much-needed habitat on campus for Auckland city’s hungry pollinators, and as an inclusive space for the community to engage with.

"We currently lack a strong and specific vision for our space and don't want it to fall into stagnation. The Bee Sanctuary is a beautiful green lot with great potential, not only for pollinators but for the student and local community. It would be amazing to establish a vision to utilise this space whilst creating and supporting a flourishing ecosystem. Guidance, education and a fresh perspective from yourself having a permaculture background will be graciously received and greatly beneficial in constructing the future of the Bee Sanctuary."
